NUJ Kaduna Council partners NGO to mark International Youth Day
KADUNA– The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Non-Governmental Organization, known as, Youth Development Moral Rebirth Initiative, (YDMRI), for a conference to mark the International Youth Day which is celebrated every year on August 12.
Speaking during the signing ceremony and inauguration of the Central Organizing Committee for the event at the NUJ Secretariat, Chairman of the State Council Comrade Adamu Yusuf thanked YDMRI for the collaboration and urged them to put all hands on to see to the success of the conference considering the time frame.
Comrade Yusuf said further that it is not the first time NUJ Kaduna Council will partner YDMRI for a Programme; saying his predecessor executed two successful programs with the NGO, hence the Council will play its part and urged the other party to do same for the success of the program.
The Chairman assured YDMRI of the Council’s full support and promised to make sure that the program is given adequate coverage during the event.
“I am believing God Almighty that this program will be a success as far as it concerns the youth it will surely see the light of the day” he added.
In his remarks, Director of YDMRI, Abdulwasiu Adebayo, commended the NUJ Kaduna Council leadership for the plans put in place to have a successful conference to mark the 2017 International day.
According to him; “What we are after is that the Central Organizing Committee should be committed to the preparation of the program so that it turns out successful,”he said.
The committee saddled with the responsibility to make sure that the occasion is a success has nine (9) members; five (5) from NUJ and four (4) from YDMRI, with Jacob Zango and Dr. Abdullahi Maikudi as Co-Chairmen.
