​KDSG to provide quality medical facilities in all its medical center

The Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasiru El-Rufa has vowed to strengthen Primary Health Care service delivery across the state by providing quality medical facilities in all the medical centers in the state He . stated this at the Inauguration of phase 1 of Kaduna state public Health Supply chain Transformation Project organized by the Kaduna state Drugs and Medical supplies Management Agency in conjunction with Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation.held in kaduna at the weekend.
The Governor who was presented by his Deputy Governor Arc. Bala Barnabas Bantex, said the government was optimistic that the partnership with Bell and Melinda Gate Foundation would strengthen Primary Health Care in rural areas, to address the constant in mortality rates . Bala Bantex said , Kaduna, state is just like other states in Nigeria is faced with the challenges of lack of adequate healthcare facilities coupled with high rate iof maternal and child deaths
. In her remark, the Executive Secretary Kaduna State Drugs and medical supplies management Agency, Pharm. Ramatu Abdulkadir, said Nigeria is undergoing significant supply chain transformation across the country with several major donors making investments in various initiatives throughout the many supply chain in operation both the Federal and State levels.
Ramatu Abdulkadir, disclosed that , in Kaduna State the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) has been supporting the state public health supply chain, with the aid of its technical partner, Pamela Steels Association (PSA) which she said resulted in significant change in the public Health system of the state which has been effectively engmeeved by Malam Nasiru El-Rufai Administration in line with health change agenda.
According to her, phase 1 implementation of the supply chain project of the state earmarked for a period of 3-6 months with 28 health facilities representing each local Government council and 5 secondary health facilities.
The Executive Secretary, noted that the phase II and III implementation of the supply chain project of the state Naiid be scaled up as may be determined based on the experience of stakeholders.
She further said, Kaduna State supply chain transformation project is the first of its kind across the 36 states of the federation including federal capital territory making Kaduna state having comparative advantage over other states of the federation.
